Essential oils can be found in everything from recipes to cleaning products (many times found in products labeled “natural”).
It’s a frequently used product both in spiritual practices and general life. What’s the hype about essential oils?
They are created by nature and are potent.
A little about essential oils…
What is an essential oil?
Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts. Essential oil is generally extracted from the plant using distillation, a process that captures the oil, rather than the water, from boiling. Essential oils are often used for therapeutic purposes because of their concentration of beneficial plant compounds; and, plants are highly valued in the holistic health field as natural medicine (as opposed to lab created pills/tablets/liquids that are often frankensteins of chemicals from plants/animals or imitations of the chemicals).
The difference between essential oils and carrier oils:
While essential oils are concentrated extracts from the leaves, flowers, barks, or roots of a plant, carrier oils are created from the fatty parts of a plant such as the seed, nuts, or kernels. The carrier oils assist in the absorption of essential oils. Essential oils can irritate your skin if used improperly. Please exercise caution.
